ABOUT ME
“Allowing ourselves to heal is allowing ourselves to be messy.” My name is Marisa and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a passion for providing heart-centered, quality services to individuals. More specifically, I am someone who sparks positivity in people’s lives and brings a level of validation and support. I find that holding ourselves to a standard of grace, not perfection, can make a huge difference in our daily lives.
EXPERIENCE
I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology at Mount Saint Mary College and continued on to obtain a Dual Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in Mental Health from Hofstra University. I bring over eight years of counseling experience in different capacities, across a variety of treatment settings including: anxiety, depression, family and relationship issues, stress management, self-image and self-esteem issues, vocational counseling, and health issues.

Sliding Scale
We are committed to making our services accessible to as many therapy-seekers as possible. While our full rate for a 50 minute session is $150, we also offer an honor system-based sliding scale. This means that we do not ask for proof of income or other documentation of financial hardship, but we do ask that you pay the highest rate that you can afford based on your financial circumstances. This allows us to provide therapy to a wider range of individuals in the community while also still being compensated fairly in accordance with our education and training. Below are general guidelines for sliding scale based on yearly income, as well as information that may help you determine whether to ask for a sliding scale reduced fee:
$95,001 AND ABOVE $150
$85,001-$95,000 $140
$70,001-$84,999 $130
$55,001-$70,000 $125
$42,001-$55,000 $120
$33,001-$42,000 $100
$25,001-$32,000 $90
$25,000 AND BELOW $80
Consider paying less on the scale if you:
- are supporting children or other dependents
- have significant debt
- have medical expenses not covered by insurance
- receive public assistance
- have immigration
-related expenses
- are an elder/teen with limited financial support
Consider paying more on the scale if you:
- own the home you live in
- have investments, retirement accounts, or inherited money
- have access to family money and resources in times of need
- work part time by choice
And a reminder that we do offer superbills for potential reimbursement through your insurance company.

Therapy has completely turned my life around. I have learned to love and take care of myself. I don't know where I would be today without it. The validation and support I've received is unmatched.
My experience has been life changing! I've learned so much about myself and my past that have made me a better person today. The way I view my life is completely different than how I saw it a year ago.
This was my first time being able to completely open up to a therapist, you let me ramble even when it was about nothing, and still was able to point me in the right direction. Thank you for never being frustrated with me or pointing out avoidant behavior on days where I was worn out. I'm really grateful that I was able to learn so much from you!
